OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
This web application was created during the 2021 TAMUHack event. It is designed as a proof of concept for a COVID track that simply displays the last public locations people with COVID-19 have been instead of tracking people or showing cases by county. Its purpose is to give people an idea of where COVID-19 hotspots are around their campus, work, or city. This application could be employed by medical staffs after testing, by companies and colleges when reporting a positive test, or by city officials. Although it may not provide an idea of how many cases are present in total it can give trend on where people seem to get infected and lead to a more focused effort to reduce the infection rate while still maintaining operations. Tracked data is reset weekly to provide relevant data and show improvements in areas previously marked as high risk. The anonymity of this polling software help encourage authenticity and participation among users.
